Java Trading Systems Developer (VP Market Making Specialist), London Tier 1 Bank
at Aston Carter in London (Published at 14-06-2011)
High Frequency Low Latency Java Systems Development expert required immediately. Greenfield work and six figues base salaries for the right talent.
This is an opportunity for experienced guru level Java developer (Server Side Java 6), with financial markets background and experience developing low latency applications within a demanding Front Office environment.
Experience from within an Electronic Market Making or algorithmic trading group is highly desirable. Experience with algo optimisation and performance tuning is massively important to this group, as is some knowledge of Smart Order Routing as this will make up a large part of the initial project.
The successful candidate will be joining the market leading team of London’s top investment bank – their market making facilities are ahead of the curve in terms of technology and strategy – this is a chance to join them as a senior (ie Vice President level) member of the team. You will be working very closely with the business to write algo’s that take in to account quantitative strategy and will push the hardware to it’s physical limits.
You will be working closely with traders, and intimately involved in developing a new framework to facilitate automated pricing and trading strategies.
At least 5 years developer experience with trading systems is a must – with experience of Java / Linux OS level debugging/performance tuning, multithreaded programming, knowledge of Sybase and tuning techniques along with scripting (perl), and working on development projects without close supervision. C++/KDB knowledge and/or experience with FIX protocol is an advantage, but not essential.
In short, this is a very exciting business area with plenty of room for development / progression – it is expected that you will bring more and more to the table in terms of the understanding of the trading aspect of the business as you develop in this role.
For more information please feel free to call in full confidence, on 0207 997 1186.
