Rates middle office / operations

Our client, one of Europe's largest alternative asset investment managers, is seeking to add a Interest Rate Derivatives Operations Analyst to join their growing company. Currently, the operations team consists of 35 people, and trades numerous products including Credit derivatives, equity swaps, variance swaps, energy derivatives, interest rate swaps, FRA, swaptions, OTC options, and exchange traded futures and options.
The Rates Operations Analyst will help to support the rates and relative value desks by processing trades, confirmations and investigating and resolving trade, position and cash reconciliations. They will also liaising closely with the find administrator, prime brokers and trading desks.
Other key tasks will include:
• Booking and maintenance of new trades and unwind/assignment packages.
• Monitoring trade capture exceptions.
• Resolving trader position/trade queries and providing ad hoc reports to traders.
• Maintaining relationship with outsourced administration and prime brokerage functions, where some settlement and reconciliation procedures are performed.
• Adding value to the business by ensuring that it is properly and securely controlled to achieve the very high levels of confidence in the end results demanded by management and investors.
• Allowing for growth of the company in products, volumes, markets and funds under management.
• Some project work
The successful candidate will possess:
- Degree qualified or Equivalent
- A track record in a operations role, ideally from a hedge fund background
- A solid understanding of OTC interest rate derivatives and actual experience in rates operations or rates trade support role
- Previous exposure to dealing with trade bookings/confirmations, and resolving breaks and settlement issues
- Demonstrative knowledge of Market industry awareness and practise of resolving frequently encountered problems
- Industry qualifications (such as IMC or IAQ) would be highly regarded
