Fixed Income Product Controller - Maths/ Quant/ Statistics/ Economics background Preferred Full-time

One of the markets most respected Fixed Income Hedge Funds is looking for a highly quantitative Product Controller with a strong academic pedigree.


Candidates are required to have 2-5 years experience and have a Maths, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics or Engineering related degree from a good university. (Masters degree desirable but not essential)

This is a non traditional PC role where Maths/Quantitative skills are preferred to ACA accounting practice. In addition a background in Fixed Income is preferred.

The role will be required to accurately measure securities prices and positions, calculate daily NAVs, assist with ongoing monitoring and posting of cash flows and effective coordination with custodial banks, prime brokers and other internal and external parties and service providers. In addition their will be various project work including new fund launches and various adhoc requested from the front office.

Suitable candidates are likely to have a background in pricing and evaluation, market risk, product control or may be a junior assistant trader. The candidate will also have basic programming skills with VBA and SQL.

Responsibilities-

• Supporting senior members of the team, the incumbent will be responsible for completing projects for a specific group of funds.

• Preparing and reconciling the P&L for the Funds on a daily basis using in house tools, ensuring all trading has been signed off daily.

• Calculate the funds return and reconcile to the Fund Administrator on a monthly basis, explaining any differences.

• Liaise with traders in real time, being able to explain P&L to them at immediate notice.

• Calculate all funding/interest costs

• Prepare fund return and allocation information

• Assist with the development of the desks risk management structure and communicate and IT development requirements that may be needed.

• Ensure accuracy of reports are completed for regulatory purposes.

• Identify and resolve any problems, pricing and evaluation issues are resolved in a timely fashion and within established guidelines. Any more complex issues would be escalated to senior members of the team or the Head of Finance.
