Operations Associate – leading Fund of Fund – Start ASAP Full-time

My client a leading Fund of Fund now require a highly motivated Operations Associate to join there team.

Ideal candidates need to come from a Fund of Fund background

Role Summary

The Firm is looking for a high quality individual with solid track record to join a small team of operations professionals who provide support to fund managers, analysts and other functions in the business. The selected candidate will become key members in the team in establishing and developing a high quality operations infrastructure. You will have a broad and diverse range of responsibilities which will include:
•Providing dedicated operational support to fund managers and analysts inc. efficient management of monthly trading of underlying hedge funds and related cash flows.
•Reconciliation of securities and cash records with Fund Administrators and Custodians.
•Regular updating of internal databases and systems to ensure all aspects of data integrity.
•Investigating and resolving trade discrepancies and other issues relating to fund portfolios.

Candidate Requirements

Core Competencies
•Quality of work: high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
•Organisational skills: good time management, ability to manage and prioritise competing demands.
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal): ability to present information and ideas clearly.
•Client focus: dynamic, positive, flexible and resourceful individual, be self motivated and have a proactive approach to problem resolution and a ‘can do’ attitude.
•Adaptability: Have a no ‘silo’ mentality and ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.

Specific Skills
•Good understanding of investment management and hedge funds.
•Technical competence on provision of operations service – especially trade management.
•Capability to establish and maintain strong working relationships (internally and externally).
•IT skills – proficiency in MS Office, esp. Excel. Would be advantageous if have VB experience.

Education & Experience
•Essential: University degree - minimum Second Class Honours. Must be numerate/relevant discipline i.e. Business, Accounting, Maths, Finance, Economics etc.
•Required: minimum of 18 months relevant experience in Fund Accounting, Custody, Investment Banking, Financial Services, Accounting, or similar industry.
•Desirable (but not essential): Fund of Hedge Fund experience, or Hedge Fund Accounting experience.
•Desirable (but not essential): IMC or part-qualified Accountant.
