C++ Developer in Hedge fund

C++ Software Developer, UNIX, 60 100k Basic + Bonus, hedge fund, Low Latency, High Frequency, Algorithms. C++ Developers are urgently sought for a market leading hedge fund based in Central London. This hedge fund is looking for highly skilled developers to develop its trading platform. The successful C++ applicants will be competent and well versed in C++ with high frequency, low latency, algorithmic trading and have a firm grasp of using market data at very high speeds. It follows then that finance experience is an essential requisite. Multi threading experience will also be required. This Hedge fund has a small team of developers and as such requires people that are comfortable working in small teams of C++ developers who will genuinely be valued as a part of the business. As a C++ developer in this Hedge Fund you will find this position to be very intellectually rigorous you will be required to have a firm understanding of mathematics and as such candidates from a Quant Developer background in C++ will be considered.
A firm understanding of profit and loss on a trading system and the ability to be able to understand present market factors will be invaluable for this C++ role.
Candidates must have the following experience:
C++;
UNIX (however applicants with Windows platform experience will not be excluded);
Multi threading;
High frequency;
Experience working with trading APIs;
FIX;
Market Connectivity;
Hardware experience (as an added bonus but not a requisite);
Ideally someone with front office experience;
Real time;
Low latency;
Experience working in the finance sector;
Experience working with algorithms or alternately a strong academic background in Mathematics, Molecular Biology or computer science degree;
A firm academic background from a solid university;
Communication (oral) - ability to communicate well one-to-one and in small groups. keeps others informed and updated; and
Communication (written) - ability to write clearly. This will be examined by the presentation of your CV.
The successful applicant will maintain and develop the existing trading platform using C++ on UNIX in a brown fielding/green fielding context. Therefore of Brown fielding/Green fielding will be invaluable. However, people from a Windows background will also be considered. A solid understanding of mathematics will be invaluable as a part of the interview process solely revolves around the C++ developers ability to analyse mathematics from a theoretical and practical perspective. Our client does not in any way require contractors at this stage and is only looking for permanent C++ staff. Any contractors who wish to apply must have a long enough tenure at their last role (at very least). As such, CV work tenure will be heavily scrutinised for the purposes of this role. Applicants who have previously carried contracts can still apply but must express a sincere intention of staying with our client for the foreseeable future.
The successful C++ candidate can expect to earn a very competitive salary of £70k 100k per annum + very generous quarterly bonus. The bonus will comprise an above average percentage of the C++ candidates base salary. Base Salary will be determined by the experience of the developer.
