Product Specialist Full-time

A global energy research company require a Product Specialist to focus on the EMEA region. The Product Specialist will be a key member of the team and will pursue the development of business activities in the region .

The role requires knowledge of risk management in commodity trading, and knowledge of crude oil and refined products in (wholesale) markets in EMEA.

The Product Specialist, EMEA is required to work closely with colleagues in sales, editorial, marketing, product development and customer support, in addition to colleagues in other offices/regions with the objective of delivering positive experiences to its customers.

Support business development activities in EMEA region. Work with sales group to maintain and develop customer business in the region, in accordance with strategic growth plans. Also, in pursuit of business objectives, work closely with colleagues in editorial, marketing, product development and customer support.

· Serve as the focal point for technical customer liaison and the development of business relationships in EMEA region. Understand delivery mechanisms for products. Actively support the development of new products. Deliver positive customer experience to customers.

· Maintain knowledge of and supporting analysis and documentation of processes in the production of forward curves (and related products). Take lead in the internal activities required to support the publication of new curves and data points (e.g. curve symbols).

· Participate in customer meetings and marketing events (including 3rd party events) in support of business development.

· Contribute to the development of strategic planning of activities within both the EMEA region and globally.

· Prepare and maintain analysis of customer business profiles - focusing on product usage case for customers and prospects.

· Maintain records in Customer Relationship Management database (Siebel) re interactions with customers and prospects.

· Prepare financial analysis and other business performance metrics of activities, as required, supporting the development in EMEA.

· Willingness to travel as required both in EMEA region and globally up to 25%.


Qualifications

· Experience in trading/risk management capacity from a global commodity trading organization advantageous. Knowledge of crude oil and refined products (wholesale) markets in EMEA from a risk or business development perspective also advantageous, as is awareness of other EMEA commodity markets.

· Team player with the ability to work in and flourish in a merit-based, entrepreneurial, professional culture. Ability to work closely and productively with colleagues.

· Demonstrable ability to prioritize multi-faceted, fast paced job tasks.

· Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with customers on all issues and deliver positive experience to customers at all times.
