Hedge Fund Desk Assistant/ PA Full-time

Our client is a leading multi billion dollar global hedge fund based in the West End. They are currently looking to hire a candidate who will provide competent and proactive support to the fund desk.

Job description

• Provide proactive and effective support to the CIO and other members of the fund desk. This involves dealing with diary management, updating contacts, processing expense claims, holiday monitoring and arranging complex overseas travel and itineraries
• As the CIO travels extensively, the successful candidate will be required to show initiative with travel planning
• Scheduling of internal and external meetings ensuring all paperwork and briefing documents are available prior to meetings
• Take minutes and actions for the desk meetings. Over time the successful candidate will be expected to develop an understanding of what the team does and what they are talking about
• Prepare and update presentations through PowerPoint, pulling data from various services such as Bloomberg and the Internet
• Regularly maintaining and distributing research to desk members
• Undertake ad-hoc projects as directed from members of the team
• In time, as the successful candidate’s knowledge of the team and fund grows, there is scope for this role to grow too.

• Possess a lateral & intuitive thought process
• Be able to display a keen and proactive attitude
• Possess the ability and ambition to develop themselves
• Possess the ability to act calmly under pressure and demonstrate confidence
• Proven experience in juggling priority tasks and dealing with ad-hoc problems and issues
• Possess impeccable organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and multi-task with minimum level of error
• To be IT literate and possess a good working knowledge of all Office systems with particular proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Possess an efficient professional but approachable working manner
• To possess a flexible attitude towards problem solving and dealing with ad-hoc issues whilst also being able to work to specific procedures or protocols
• To possess a self sufficient work ethic with a proactive outlook. Have the ability to see longer term issues and run with projects from start to finish
• To be a team player and willing to take on ad hoc and varied tasks as and when required.
